Florida, Part II

Phase 1 of Spring Break: Gloria, Sophie and Abby Kamprath joined us in Tampa. It was wonderful to see Colorado friends on our journey. Drew couldn’t wait to see kids her age!
We stayed on Siesta Key at a cute condo right by the ocean. Between the beach and pool, the kids were wet for the entire day. It was a fantastic location near eateries and stores.

Sherami and Kaelyn Payne joined us on the beach and we also saw the Payne family the next day in Venice, FL. They took us to a beach that washes up fossilized shark teeth. The sun couldn’t even slow down our kids as they dug and sorted through the sand. Sophie proved to be a master shell-finder!

We cannot thank them enough for sharing the beach, pool and gelato!

Phase 2 of Spring Break: Sawyer and Christian joined us in Orlando at Universal Studios! The kids went straight to the pool and then we hit the park.

Roller coasters, 4-D rides, Harry Potter, Butter Beer….the list goes on! The Hard Rock hotel proved to be the perfect spot to stay so that we could walk to the park and surrounding restaurants. (Thanks, Laura, for all the guidance!)

Phase 3 of Spring Break: The Kamps’ flew home and The Collinets’ drove to Clearwater Beach. Spring Break was still in full swing but we managed to settle into a schedule of beach time, pool time and great seafood.

The highlight for me was the kayak tour through the waterways and mangroves. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and life in general. It is a great way to learn about ocean life. We saw jumping mullet and a few dolphin as well as many birds.
