We had planned to take, “The Lonliest Road in America”, (Hwy 50) through Nevada. Kathy, at the Utah visitor center, said ANY road you take through northern Nevada is, “The Lonliest Road in America”. We opted for I-80 just to get through it. Other than the semi trucks and wind there is not much to see and the towns along the way are forgetable. Casinos and oil drilling. We look forward to the California state line.
We finally stopped driving in a small casino town by the name of Elko. We stayed at a small RV Park with a pool and free cookies! This morning we got up and wanted to get out of Elko as fast as possible. We drove and drove until we found Reno and are now going to camp at the local KOA for the night. Hopes for sweet dreams!
